Want to remove messages from your iPhone quickly? Check out this quick start guide to show you an effective way to make every call disappear from your iOS device in seconds.
Hi, folks! It’s Frankie again. Welcome to my blog. Today I want to talk about removing iMessage text messages or simple text messages from your iPhone (or other iOS devices).
This is a non-judgmental room, so I understand there are a lot of reasons why you might want to quickly remove whole circuits or parts of circuits from your iPhone. Maybe you’re hiding something from your annoying husband, arguing with a friend and want to get rid of the conversation, or even just want to make room on your device.
I’ll show you in a few steps how best to use iMessage on your iPhone and iPad to remove unwanted messages.
Yes, these strategies allow you to dispose of your messages individually or in groups, but they do not fully protect your phone from espionage.
Indeed, it is easier than ever to find and install spyware such as mSpy. This software allows the user who installed it to view the channels you have – even if they have been uninstalled.
Stop talking and let’s get started.
Pay attention: The guide applies to iOS 14 software and is valid for all current iPhone and iPad models, including iPhone 12.
Call deletion on iPhone
You may not know it, but deleting a call is as easy as missing a message.
You don’t believe it?
- Open iMessage
- Search the list for the cat you want to remove.
- Slide your finger to the left until the Delete option appears.
- Click on this word. A pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm your choice. If you do, the conversation will go away.
It is a very simple and practical way to get rid of all text exchanges.
Delete one (or more) message(s) from a call on the iPhone
You want to remove a small part of the chain or a statement?
- Open iMessage
- Find the chat where you want to delete messages and open it.
- Press and hold the individual message you want to delete (often only 2-3 seconds).
- If a pop-up window appears, select Advanced.
If you only want to delete this message, click on the field at the bottom left. You will receive a note in which you can delete the message.
If you want to delete multiple messages from the thread, click the trash icon in the lower left corner. In the Delete messages field, you can select Delete messages.
Now you’ve got it.
This is the most effective and least painful way to remove a single unpleasant message or make room on your device.
Before we go any further, I want to show you something that can save you a lot of time.
You can delete all messages in a chat by selecting Delete all posts in the top left corner of the topic. It’s the same as scrolling down the left side of the list of topics.
Setting up messages to be deleted after a certain period of time on the iPhone
You can customize your iPhone’s storage space at any time without having to delete messages manually. The iMessage application allows you to define a time interval for messages to disappear.
Follow these steps to do so:
- Open the iPhone or iPad settings
- Click on News
- Open the Save Messages tab under Message History.
- Choose how long messages are kept, including options such as 30 days or a full year.
- Tap Delete to confirm that you want iOS to delete messages on your behalf after the specified period of time.
Once you have done this, there is no way back – you cannot undo the deletion of these messages.
Frequently asked questions

In this part of the handbook I would like to take a few minutes to reflect on some of the most common problems and challenges I face.
How can I restore deleted messages on the iPhone?
First of all, I’d like to point out that it’s possible. There are several methods, ranging from iCloud data backup to many other options. I have written a detailed guide on this topic, explaining best practices for retrieving deleted messages. Check it out today.
Can I permanently delete messages on my iPhone?
Let me be honest. No, you can’t. However, if you do not use iCloud backup for your data, it is difficult to recover deleted messages.
Can I delete messages on the receiver’s device?
No, you can’t. Once you send a message via iMessage, you can’t control where it goes. However, this is possible on WhatsApp with a window limited to 7 minutes. If you would like to know more, I have written a tutorial on deleting messages sent through WhatsApp.
If I delete messages on my iPhone, will they disappear on my Mac or iPad?
The short answer is yes, but only if you have enabled sync via iCloud. Here’s Apple’s official guide to making this connection.
We are now at the end of this manual. I hope I’ve given you all the information you need to solve your problems.
